How Do I Become a CNA? ↓
The following are the requirements to become a Certified Nurse Aide in the State of Texas:
- Take a class of at least 75 hours though an approved training provider. 51 of the hours are classroom hours and the other 24 must be in a nursing home.
- Pass a background check. The background check is done as part of the application for the class. You don’t have to do anything except answer the questions truthfully.
- Take the state certification exam. There are 2 parts to the exam; written and clinical. You must pass both parts to pass the entire exam.
Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Take a class, pass a background check, pass a test, and you’re ready to work. However, it can be overwhelming trying to figure out to go about doing all this. The good news is Express Training is here to help you clear away all the confusion. We’ll set you up to succeed and then it’s up to you to do the work.
We are approved providers of the Nurse Aide Program, by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) as well as the Texas Workforce Commission.
